Machining

Schulte & Schmidt was one of the first foundries to start using CNC machines and rotary transfer machines for machining when it introduced them back in 1980. Over many years we have built up our competence and know-how to the extent that 95% of our components are now machined in-house. This search for new solutions has always been an integral part of our day-to-day work and still continues to be – after all, this is the only way that we can meet the trickiest of requirements, organise processes efficiently and achieve continuous improvements in our quality. In our in-house jig and fixture design department and the tool-making department we are constantly developing new clamping, assembly and testing concepts to enable us to produce highly efficient machining tools.

At our plants in Flossenbürg and Vohenstrauss we specialise in the machining of castings. Here we have the following equipment available:

  • 33 machining centres with 3,4 or 5 axes
  • 4 CNC lathes
  • 8 CNC lathes with power-driven tools
  • 10 special machining units (rotary transfer machine) for large-scale production
  • 1 resin-impregnation line (Maldanern)
